I knew I wanted to become a teacher way back when I was in third grade in Mrs. Curtis' class. I admired Mrs. Curtis for her kind and caring ways. She held high expectations for her students and always found ways to encourage us to do our best.
My experience with children grew from babysitting, to camp counseling, to becoming a live-in-nanny, an assistant teacher, and then finally a classroom teacher. My hope as a classroom teacher is to create the same memorable experiences for my students...filling them with knowledge and self-confidence that they can do anything and be whatever they dream.
Newbury Elementary has been my "home" since 1994. My "family" quickly became my third grade team. I spent over 24 years in third grade and have moved to fourth grade for a few years here and there.
My husband Eric and I live in Portsmouth, NH with our son Riley who is now a sophomore in college at Massachusetts College of Art and Design! In addition to the people in our family, we have one kitty we rescued from the animal shelter named Max. We also have a pup named Kipper who is also a rescue and is a mixture of Jack Russell and Chihuahua...you guessed it LOTS of personality!
My favorite things to do are spending time out in nature...especially the beach, collecting shells and sea-glass, gardening and going on fun family excursions.
